Nundle is a village in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia. It was formerly the centre of Nundle Shire, but most of this area, including the village of Nundle, was absorbed into Tamworth Regional Council in 2004. The village is 400 km north of Sydney and about 56 km south east of Tamworth past Chaffey Dam via a good sealed road. In the 2006 census Nundle had a population of 289. Nundle is located at the southern end of Fossickers Way Being roughly equidistant from Sydney and Port Macquarie and the birthplace of the Hathway clan it seemed like an apppropriate place for a wedding. Great place for kids. The centre of town is the pub, known as the Peel Valley Inn. One block east is the Gold Mine Guesthouse where 17 of Julies side slept in 6 bedrooms. One block north is the Fossicker Tourist Caravan Park where the Hathways took up residence. The children oscillated between both groups and a minder could position himeself on the verandah of the pub and keep an eye on their movements. An even more conscientious minder could position himself diagonally opposite by the coffee hut on the corner, although there is a limit to how much coffee you can drink in a day. |
